Good morning from the top of the Continental Divide! The yellow of the changing Aspen leaves especially bright against the looming dark clouds of the oncoming storm. The temperature dropped nearly 10 degrees from our start in Aspen (about 7900’ elevation) to the top (12,100’ elevation), 46F vs 37F. We drove up on a whim but glad we chose today as autumn is an ephemeral season, especially at higher altitudes, and we were able to enjoy flowers, clouds, leaves, snow and rain all in one morning…
