A lovely birthday morning dawned several degrees cooler than previous days. I took today off from work to spend time with my mom and as we sat to have coffee and plan the day received a text from a friend “Come outside”. Beautiful hand-picked flowers from her yard, fresh baked bread still warm from the oven, homemade honey butter, fresh eggs from her hens. So appreciative and what a perfect way to start the day!

Later, as it is such a delightful morning, my mom urges me to take a bike ride. She didn’t need to twist my arm as my inner 8-year old takes joy in the ride every time.

Not sure what temporal anomaly jettisoned me forth from 8 to 59 years old, but through this roller coaster of life and swings through hope and despair and numerous moves and starting over again and again, realize that through and though it all find myself just…filled with gratitude.
