Have Yourself(ves) a… 12-24-12

In less than 12 hours I’ll be departing Barbados to fly home to San Francisco for the holidays. It is dizzying to think I’ve been here only 5 weeks as the many experiences that have taken place during the construction of this new life in this new country seem impossible to fit themselves within the confines of such a small time frame. Such is the beauty of travel, and new experience in general. Seeing and wondering with eyes unfettered by experience or expectation. Joyful childlike exuberance at the possibilities presented without stultification of fear, real or imagined.

It’s 8pm here in Barbados on Christmas eve and I feel so very grateful for so many aspects of this crazy life. I’ll be home for Christmas…to an incredibly loving family. At this time of year one can watch the movies portraying what the spirit of it all means and lament if only…But in terms of my family the movies can’t do this kind of love justice. May you all have a merry little whatever holiday it is you celebrate, may you all be amongst those that love and accept you for the crazy beautiful strange self(ves) you are, and may you all know, however insignificant it may seem, that on this wildly rainy night, one kind soul in Barbados is sending loving thoughts your way and wishing you safe travels today and on your onward journey always…

Peace and love to all,
mt
