The rain finally broke midday and we took a walk through town. Met a new furry friend who then followed us for a bit until she finally took shelter in the dryness of a deep portico. She was a sweetheart

Town was lively with people who spent the morning, as we did, avoiding the deluge of rain and were finally set free.

The rain cleared the murky mist though that had been present since our arrival and made for a gorgeous afternoon. We strolled through town and talked about what our life could be like here should we make it our permanent residence…

Food tastes better here. Tomatoes taste tomato-ier. Onions onion-ier. Green beans, green bean-ier. We got a cucumber at the market which I cut into our salad tonight and it had a juicy spring to it, it’s texture and flavor so incredibly fresh. Is it just vacation or are our senses actually more alive here? After many trips to Italy I have to believe the latter.
