A funny thing happened on the way to the forum, whoops! Wrong city!

Bill is in Sicily on a business trip while I had business in Florence regarding my application for dual citizenship, and, never one to mix business with pleasure *cough cough* decided to stay a few extra nights to revel in this city’s embarrassment of cultural riches prior to training up to Milan to meet Bill next Tuesday. (Dang, that is one heck of a long run-on sentence! Haha!)

Back in July my friend Sue, whom I’ve never met in person, messaged me to ask how I was doing and we got to type-chatting about dis and dat and I casually mentioned I would be alone in Florence for 4 nights and wouldn’t it be fun if she could join me aaaaaaaand…fast forward to last night where Sue took a bus, a plane, a train shuttle, a train and a taxi to arrive at my hotel’s doorstep! Such fun!

She arrived around 8:30 and after a nice chat we walked a few blocks to go for dinner. It was a perfect night of online friendship come to life, gorgeous weather, beautiful architecture, great pizza and convivial Italian atmosphere. Off to see some guy’s statue later, David something or other. Maybe you’ve heard of it?
