October a gorgeous time for travel across the globe and this October is no exception. And Florence, with its staggering wealth of renaissance wonders, is a gorgeous city that has us swiveling our heads to take in the delights at every turn of the road.

It’s been something like 35 years since I last visited Florence on a day trip. There were no crowds like those of present day and my major recollection of it then was the feather light gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce and a lover’s spat Bill and I had on the street over who-knows-what, the small audience the spat garnered, the result of which had us erupting into laughter and our small fan base applauding our reconciliation with good-natured affection.

Why has it taken me so long to return to this amazing city of art and beauty and wildly wonderful Tuscan food and wine?
