The Accademia is hopping-on-one-foot distance from our small and charmingly appointed hotel. Yesterday afternoon we took a tour with about 8 others on a skip-the-line tour of David. So happy we did as the line was loooooong and our tour guide Manuela was fantastic! She brought Michelangelo to full and celebrated life with fascinating backstories and facts about his works and how the David came to be. Sooooo, I took a few pictures, lol. Not in a pervy way, mind you, but because with the lighting (see article link below) and differing angles each contour and vein told a different tale of his artistry.
